Space Compass Signed contract for Japan Ministry of Defense's "Geostationary Orbit Optical Communication Technology Demonstration"
Tokyo, Japan, April 24, 2025 Space Compass Corporation is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the "Geostationary Orbit (GEO) Optical Communication Technology Demonstration" project by Japan Ministry of Defense.
This project aims to demonstrate optical communication via Space Compass's GEO optical data relay satellite to acquire the satellite optical communication capability necessary for transmitting large volumes of data obtained through SDA (Space Domain Awareness) activities in geostationary orbit, which is crucial for enhancing SDA capabilities. Through this demonstration project, Space Compass will contribute to Japan's efforts towards space security.
